For students who may not go on to pursue a degree or career in the entertainment industry, the transferable skills and knowledge learned in technical theatre are relevant to a wide variety of careers that have similar knowledge bases and practices as technical theatre such as:
*
Architecture and construction trades.
Engineering and science.
People and project management.
All of the above.
Tech theatre students who have gone to work in the theatre industry usually don’t become:
*
Lighting designers and technicians.
Sound engineers.
Stage managers.
Llama trainers.
Technical theatre can benefit students who are not succeeding “academically”, who need to find a reason, and passion, to stay in school. They discover a sense of value and gain the inspiration to succeed in school in general by working with dedication in the theatre discipline.
